These clients had
recently contemporized their house, and wanted their front garden to reinforce
the changes. They favored a serene, modern, Japanesque style. We focused on
foliage textures and colors. Three different cultivars of red leafed Japanese
Maple provide seasonal interest and color contrast. Blooming is limited in this
garden, except for a spring burst from the irises. Many of the groundcovers,
grasses and shrubs are rich green in color, with a cascading branching habit.
